Vacancy - Commercialisation Manager
closes 15th April 5pm
The Highlands and Islands Enterprise Network is undertaking a £5.2 million project to establish next generation broadband access infrastructure in the Western Isles, supported by Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and NHS Western Isles. The project is partly funded by the EU ERDF programme and the DTI Broadband Initiative.
The project will comprise a wireless backbone to connect community hubs from the Butt of Lewis in the north, to Barra in the south of the islands using an industry standard microwave network. A series of wireless technology systems will take the service from these hubs to offices, business, teleworkers, schools, health centres and individual homes. It is intended that the network will operate on a commercially viable and sustainable basis.
The Highlands and Islands Enterprise Network is seeking an external Commercialisation Manager, to assist with the completion of the capital works programme and to establish and develop the commercial management activities of the operation. This individual or organization will be a confident and experienced professional, ideally with membership of a recognised professional institution, offering project management/commercial expertise gained in similar development arenas. The appointee may also be able to offer back-up resources within his/her organisation such as specialist and technical staff.
Interested parties are required to submit a formal proposal no later than 5pm Friday 15th April 2005.
