Connected Communities Update

Press Release - 7th Dec 2004

The Connected Communities Broadband Network continues to move forward with the build phase now underway. Significant progress has been made in ordering equipment and various operating contracts are currently being tendered.

The network back-bone and community access nodes will be installed and tested over the next three months. Schools and NHS facilities will be connected followed by business and residential subscriber connections, initially on an area by area basis, running into the Summer. In our last update we advised which areas would receive the Connected Communities service. For more information on this please visit our website at www.connectedcommunities.co.uk.

Prior to these installations taking place in your community we will be mailing you with details of a planned programme of local promotional events to advise you of the services and costs which will be available. As the final price list for services is subject to a tendering process we are only able to advise at this stage that costs are expected to be in line with other charges from other broadband service providers.
