Broadband in the Western Isles

Connected Communities today announces that orders for its retail broadband service hebrides.net will be accepted from 7th December

25th November 2005

The new hebrides.net website will open on December 7th and subscriber installations will start from the same date.

As already announced, an attractively priced range of packages will be available ranging from £19.99 to £79.99 per month for direct debit customers.

Following placement of your order, an email acknowledgement will be sent out immediately and will be followed by a further communication detailing when your installation will take place.

The service will be rolled out progressively and we advise customers to sign up early to ensure that we can prioritise the installation process effectively. A number of subscribers are currently connected while we run a series of tests to ensure optimum performance for all new subscribers. Many schools and other public sector connections have been connected already.

A series of local events will be announced shortly to allow demonstrations and to allow you to ask any questions you may have. At these events we will present our vision of a truly ‘connected community’ and the key differences which will ensure the Western Isles is at the forefront of using advanced broadband services to the benefit of the whole community.

Contact details and other information about the network and the services are available on the website.

We greatly appreciate your patience while be have been building this powerful broadband network.
